    Economy News - Baghdad
Today, Monday, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced the details of its plan, which includes 3 phases, for the rehabilitation and operation of suspended factories and factories.
The media center in the Ministry of Industry said, "The Ministry of Industry and Minerals, since the beginning of the formation of the current government, has adopted a national project and an ambitious plan to rehabilitate and operate the suspended factories affiliated with the ministry in all governorates, which number 83 out of 288 factories."
The center added, "The plan consists of three short, medium and long-term phases, assessed according to the extent of the damage that was incurred and the percentage of rehabilitation that you need," noting that "the short-term plan includes the rehabilitation of 17 factories within one year, and the medium plan includes the implementation of 24 laboratories and factories for a period of time." 3 years, as for the long plan, it consists of 42 factories and laboratories, and it will be completed within 5 years.”
He pointed out that "the ministry has started implementing the short-term plan since the Minister of Industry took over the tasks and it was fully accomplished in the third quarter of last year with the ministry's own capabilities by rehabilitating 17 factories and laboratories in the manufacture of bricks and pipes, sprinkler irrigation factories, oxygen factories, food and electrical industries, and others," explaining that " The implementation of the medium-term plan, which needs funds at a rate of more than 30 % , has been initiated, through partnership with the private sector, which is currently a partner with the public sector. Together, they raise the slogan “Made in Iraq”, whose results will be announced in the coming months and the transition to the long-term plan.
He continued, "This plan resulted in the rehabilitation and opening of a number of important and strategic factories since late last year, such as the opening of a modern and integrated factory for the production of Dab fertilizer in Basra this year in partnership with a specialized British company with a capacity of 1500 tons per day, in addition to the opening of a petrochemical plant this year to produce Low density polyethylene granules with a capacity of 120 tons per day, after stopping it for more than 12 years," according to the official news agency.
He continued, "Modern and integrated lines were opened in the textile, electrical, asphalt, cement, veterinary medicines and others in several governorates this year, with several new factories and production lines under opening and entering the production process in the remainder of this year."
