The Director General of Customs in Ilam Province, western Iran, announced that Mehran Customs resumed its activities after a break of 20 days due to the forty-day march.
Ruhollah Gholami said: With the restart of Mehran Customs, about 7,000 tons of goods entered the borders of Mehran in 300 trucks for export to Iraq.

He added: Due to the closure on Sunday (on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the Noble Prophet “peace be upon him” and Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq “peace be upon him”), the customs cadres are allocating areas for unloading and clearing goods so that trucks can leave the borders of Mehran towards Iraq as of today.”
The Director General of Ilam Customs stated: After 20 days of suspending the trade programs of this customs office, the activities of the Mehran Customs office have resumed as of Saturday (24 September), and this commercial crossing is ready to receive merchants and their goods.
