MP Alia Nassif warned against the attempts of some former general inspectors to climb and obtain special positions and grades alternative to their abolished positions, indicating that a number of them had their offices a hotbed of corruption and terrorism.
And she said in a statement today: “The lawsuit filed by some inspectors general before the Federal Court to obtain special degrees is evidence of opportunistic behavior and not ashamed of their thefts,” noting: “The inspectors’ offices that were canceled by a decision of the House of Representatives, some of them were a focus of corruption, terrorism and vice, An example of this is the scandal of holding Mitsubishi cars and gambling halls, some of which were run by cowardly inspectors who were afraid to carry out their duties.”
And she indicated: “Some of the inspectors (who were accomplices in major thefts) stood against us when we, in the House of Representatives, legislated the Public Prosecution Law to give the judiciary a major role in combating corruption, as the inspectors challenged it to be frozen, despite the fact that the public prosecutor was present in every Law preparation meetings, and the same thing happened through the inspectors’ attempts to thwart the amendment of the Integrity Commission law, knowing that we are determined, God willing, to amend the laws of the Office of Financial Supervision and Integrity, despite the policy of thwarting laws.”
Nassif called on the prime minister to "filter the former inspectors, review their history, and ascertain whether they were involved in corruption crimes and not fall into this trap."
