The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers confirmed today, Monday, that the automation of customs and border crossings has provided the state with nearly 3 trillion dinars during the past two years.
Haider Majeed, a spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, said, "The customs and border crossings automation team is one of the teams affiliated with the Supreme Committee for Electronic Governance in Iraq, headed by the head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli."
He explained, "The team has achieved achievement rates and advanced stages in the subject of automating the tax and customs receipt, which reflected positively on the work of the authority on the one hand, and on the Iraqi state in general," stressing that "the automation of the receipt led to stopping manipulation, forgery and suspicions, as well as financial corruption and the judiciary." On the process of manipulating the gender of the material and falsifying official documents.”
He added, "The process of entry and exit of materials through all border crossings, land, air and sea, are all subject to the electronic tax and customs receipt process, and the funds are collected and all go to the state, as an estimated two trillion and 850 billion dinars have been achieved during the past two years and with the effort of the head of the Border Crossings Authority."
