Today, Sunday, the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and his accompanying delegation, while they discussed ways to protect Iraq's sovereignty.

Al-Araji's media office stated in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News, "The latter welcomed Nechirvan Barzani and the official delegation accompanying him, and a review of the overall security and political situation in the country took place."

According to the statement, the two sides discussed "the continuation of cooperation between the center and the region, which leads to solutions to issues related to neighboring countries, through dialogue, diplomatic methods and mutual understanding, in a way that preserves the stability and sovereignty of Iraq."

The statement indicated that "the meeting also witnessed an emphasis on the importance of constructive coordination and cooperation between the federal government and the Kurdistan region in confronting terrorist elements and controlling borders."
