    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has stopped granting soft loans to job seekers, due to the lack of financial allocations, stressing that it will continue to train the unemployed in specialized courses for the purpose of establishing their own projects.
    The Director of the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in the Ministry, Raed Jabbar Bahed, told Al-Sabah that "the application for soft and small loans is currently suspended, due to the lack of sufficient financial allocations," pointing out that "this year witnessed a stumbling block in the process of granting loans due to problems with sufficient financial allocations to cover them." And relying on what is recovered from the beneficiaries of previous loans, in order to grant them to new borrowers.
    He continued, "Since 2003 until the end of last year 2021, about 60,000 loans were issued to researchers as well as graduates," noting that "the ministry was adopting a points system by granting these loans according to precedence, marital status, and certificate."
    He pointed out that "the Ministry of Labor has launched 35 meals for small loans over the past years."
    Bahedh stressed that "if the necessary financial allocations are available within the next year's budget, the process of issuing loans will be activated and thus including the largest number of applicants," pointing out that "the Ministry's training centers continue to implement specialized training courses for the unemployed, in the most popular professions in the labor market." , for the purpose of establishing their own projects that are being monitored by the Ministry and providing all facilities for its success.
