    Today, Tuesday, the Border Ports Authority announced the advantages of the electronic customs declaration program.
    A statement of the authority, which was received by (Al-Oula News), stated that “the project team for the automation of customs and border crossings held its first meeting for the year 2023, headed by the head of the authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, and with the participation of team members.”
    The statement stated, “Al-Waeli welcomed the new team members, and the agenda was discussed, which includes hosting the technical team of the General Authority of Customs, with the aim of presenting the electronic customs declaration program prepared by self-efforts by the employees of the General Authority of Customs and currently applied in the outlets (Al-Manthiriya, Mandali) and experimentally in Ports (Zarbatiya, Trebil), pointing out that “the program aims to move from initiating the completion of the customs transaction by manually writing the details of the manual and automated declaration manually to printing it electronically for those authorized exclusively, as well as calculating fees, auditing and disclosure details electronically and linking that with the electronic platform of the Border Ports Authority.” .
    And the statement continued, “The electronic transmission aims to shorten the time periods for completing the customs transaction and counting accurate data on imported and exported goods, as well as preventing cases of forgery and distortion of the data in order to preserve public money, and not allowing the promotion of the transaction except by the official authorized persons from the General Authority.” for customs.”
    For their part, the team members expressed their “full readiness to provide support to the authority through the development of electronic procedures (with self-efforts) and to continue to make the best efforts to implement the directives of the Diwani Order Committee 22 of 2020 concerned with electronic governance and to continue with a well-studied program and plan to tighten control over the commercial process and achieve a complete transformation of procedures paper to electronic.
