    Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning counted the number of continuing and completed schools within the investment curriculum and the regional development program.

    and a statement from the ministry stated, “The number of continuing and completed schools within the investment curriculum and the regional development program has reached (6706) schools, as the ongoing and completed schools were distributed among the governorates, within the investment curriculum, and the regional development program by:
    (1023) A school in Baghdad
    (641) a school in Dhi Qar
    (347) a school in Muthanna
    (671) a school in Nineveh
    (441) a school in Diwaniyah
    (338) a school in Wasit
    (565) a school in Salah al-Din
    (468) A school in Anbar
    (471) a school in Basra
    (264) a school in Diyala
    (280) a school in Maysan
    (386) A school in Kirkuk.
    (465) A school in Babylon.
    (208) Schools in Karbala.
    (138) A school in Najaf.
    The statement added, "The amount of the deficit in school buildings for the stages (primary - secondary - and vocational) amounted to (8578) schools," noting that "the number of private primary and secondary schools amounted to (2884) schools, and Baghdad ranked first with (902) private schools." It was followed by Basra with (566) schools, then Dhi Qar came third with (238) private schools, while Maysan came last in the number of private schools with (27) schools only.
    He continued, "The number of lagging schools reached (1000) and (31) schools, including (844) schools for the Ministry of Education Project No. (1)."
    He explained, "The Ministry of Planning diagnosed, through field follow-up, the problems and obstacles facing the implementation of school projects in Iraq, and most of them were contractual, technical and financial problems, in addition to the people's encroachment on some buildings," pointing out that "the Ministry of Planning recommended a review By contracting methods, identifying the reasons for the companies’ delay in executing the contracting, while conducting a continuous evaluation of the project, and coordinating with the security authorities to protect the projects and the executing cadres, with the formation of joint committees from the beneficiaries to calculate the rates of extinction and financial losses as a result of stopping projects for long periods, as well as taking appropriate measures against retarded companies.
