The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, affirmed today, Thursday, that Iraq places its confidence in German companies.

Al-Sudani said in a speech during his meeting with representatives of German companies, in the invitation held by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce in Berlin, that "the new Iraqi government is heading towards more participation of German companies in the reconstruction and development of infrastructure."

Al-Sudani added, "Iraq places its trust in German companies, due to their expertise, high efficiency, and international reputation."

He pointed out that "the Iraqi government seeks to diagnose the challenges facing the investment process in Iraq, and put it in a direction that is consistent with international standards."

     Al-Sudani continued,

He pointed out that "the government deliberately facilitated the granting of entry visas to Iraqi lands to investors directly at the Iraqi border crossings (land, sea, and air) for the purpose of investment."

He stressed: "Inviting German companies to invest in Iraq in various fields, especially investment in renewable energy, gas and petrochemical projects."

He continued, "It is expected that the costs of producing renewable energy in Iraq will be low compared to other countries, as well as supporting the Iraqi government's plan to develop the energy and electricity sector."

Al-Sudani urged "German companies to actively participate in joint exhibitions and conferences, which will represent a road map for the work of German companies in Iraq."

    He noted that "

"We aspire to a strategic partnership and cooperation in all fields between the two countries," he continued.

Al-Sudani stressed the participation of Iraqi private sector companies in the projects in the custody of German companies, and the establishment of investment partnerships between the two sides, to achieve the strategic partnership and its continuity, stressing the importance of activating tourism through the method of tourist groups, to visit archaeological and tourist areas in Iraq, and to overcome obstacles.
