, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani received, on Monday, the Secretary-General of the Council of Muslim Elders, Muhammad Abd al-Salam, and his accompanying delegation.
A statement by Al-Sudani's office stated, "During the meeting, they reviewed the most important challenges facing Islamic societies, and ways to overcome them through solidarity and communication."
Al-Sudani affirmed, "The Iraqis were able, through unity and synergy, to overcome the attack of ISIS and the threat and barbarism it represented," adding that "denouncing, isolating and condemning the discourse of extremism from all intellectual and cultural bodies and institutions will inevitably contribute to erasing the traces of terrorism and ending its existence."
