A human rights center is sounding the alarm: the rise of the dollar has increased unemployment and poverty rates

Shafaq News/ The Strategic Center for Human Rights in Iraq warned, on Saturday, of the danger of the collapse of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar.
The deputy head of the center, Hazem Al-Rudaini, stated, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the depreciation of the Iraqi dinar has led to an increase in the number of unemployed people and the cessation of many private projects, as a result of the high prices of raw materials and the increase in poverty rates due to the large increase in food prices.
Al-Rudaini called on the government to take quick steps to preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar, impose specific prices on basic foodstuffs, and work to support the agricultural and industrial sectors.
The Iraqi markets are witnessing a continuous rise in the prices of foodstuffs and construction commodities as a result of the continued rise in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar.
