Baghdad / Obelisk: Detachments of the Federal Intelligence Agency, based on accurate information, were able to arrest a person who was trading in counterfeit currency in Salah al-Din, with the offense in possession of (47) million Iraqi dinars in the category of (50) thousand Iraqi dinars.
According to the intelligence statement that was received at the obelisk, three color printers were seized, as well as thousands of papers intended for printing inside his house, after following the accused from Babel Governorate to Salah Al-Din Governorate.
The intelligence agency had reported to the obelisk the arrest of 18 suspects in possession of about 800 million Iraqi dinars and 385,000 thousand Americans for manipulating the exchange rate of the dollar in three provinces.
The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in the Ministry of the Interior continues its intelligence efforts to follow up and prosecute the manipulators of the dollar exchange rate and money changers who violate the instructions of the Central Bank, and through its continuous rounds and calls received by citizens through the hotline 144.
18 suspects were arrested in Baghdad, Basra, and Najaf, with sums of money more than 795,000,000 million Iraqi dinars and 385,000 thousand US dollars, and the detachments closed many unauthorized money changers and money transfer offices, and legal measures were taken against them duly.
