The Parliamentary Legal Committee determined the fate of the Provincial Council Elections Law during the coming period, noting that there is a proposal to merge it with the Parliament Elections Law.
Committee member Aref al-Hamami said that there are parliamentary proposals to merge the laws of the provincial councils and the House of Representatives into one law only in light of what was agreed upon by the forces of the State Administration coalition.
A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee indicated that the committee, over the course of three sessions, discussed the proposal and prepared a report to the Presidency of the House of Representatives in this regard to submit it for a second reading.
