Al-Kinani said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, "The government's approach towards Chinese companies to implement projects is a good step, because we will not be able to achieve a qualitative leap by completing strategic projects and infrastructure except through fast-paced Chinese companies."
He added, "Cooperation and a return to the Sino-Iraqi agreement have become a necessity, as well as the revival of the Silk Road, which will generate huge amounts of money for Iraq and open hundreds of thousands of job opportunities. Therefore, the Sudanese government has no choice but to go to Chinese companies and activate previous agreements.
The leader of the State of Law coalition, former MP Jassim Muhammad Jaafar, had accused the United States of exerting pressure to prevent Iraq from heading towards the Chinese agreement, indicating that the share of the investment plan was not sufficient to implement strategic projects.
