A member of the Committee of Experts to select the Council of the Commission for Human Rights, Representative Hussein Ali Mardan, confirmed, on Sunday, the procedures for selecting members of the Commission, indicating the committee of expertise that was formed and started its work.

In an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, Mardan said, "The committee's work is aimed at spreading a culture of human rights and protecting them in Iraq, pointing to setting standards that will be adopted in selecting members of the Board of Commissioners for the membership of the Commission."
Adding that "the selection of members will be based on evaluation of qualifications and experience in the field of human rights in accordance with legal and international standards,"
Pointing out that "the House of Representatives formed a committee to select members of the Board of Commissioners of the High Commission for Human Rights, consisting of members of the House of Representatives, the Council of Ministers, a representative of the Judicial Council, and a representative of civil society organizations."
He explained that "the tasks of the committee that the House of Representatives voted on is to set instructions for admission according to the conditions that must be met by the applicant members."
