Today, Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim affirmed that conducting the general census of population and housing in Iraq is a top priority for the government, given its great importance in drawing a full picture of the development reality in the country.
Tamim said, during his meeting with the general manager and employees of the General Company for Electronic Systems in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, to discuss the requirements for implementing the population census, according to a statement by the Ministry of Planning. There is room for error, especially since the census will be carried out electronically.
He stressed, "Priority will be given to national companies that are able to secure all the requirements of the project, which include providing tablets, preparing systems and software, establishing the National Data Center, and other basic requirements," stressing the "keenness of the government and the Ministry of Planning to complete the general census." population according to international standards, and in line with development requirements, especially since Iraq has not witnessed a comprehensive population census since 1987.
