Shafaq News/ The Kurdish leader, Masoud Barzani proposed, on Tuesday, the establishment of a center to follow up on all Faili affairs, to be based in Erbil Governorate, the capital of Kurdistan Region.
This came in a speech delivered by the International Scientific Conference on Genocide against the People of Kurdistan (genocide of the Faili Kurds) in the city of Erbil, which is taking place under his personal sponsorship and in the presence of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the Prime Minister of the region, Masrour Barzani.

The Kurdish leader said in his speech, "It is recognized that the Faili Kurds are the basic and indivisible part of the Kurdish people, and they bravely made all attempts against them to melt them, and despite all these attempts they preserved their identity and culture despite being subjected to double persecution."
He added, "The Faili activists deservedly contributed to the establishment of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and they contributed to the September Revolution, and many of the attendees know that the senior leaders were occupied by Faili fighters as the party secretary, the president of the Kurdistan Women's Union, the president of the Kurdistan Students Union, and other important positions."
The leader Masoud Barzani added, "The Failis gained the trust and respect of the immortal Barzani, for their sincerity and dedication to their work and their affiliation," stressing, "The Failis have been subjected to great suffering and a great disaster. The regime tried by various means to dissuade them from their national and patriotic positions, but those methods failed, and they resorted to brutal means and methods." Including forced deportation on the pretext that they are foreigners and the confiscation of movable and immovable money, and the most important of all that is the undoubted number of 12 thousand young men - perhaps the number is much more - but this number is confirmed from the age of 18-30 years. They were brutally liquidated and no one knows yet. Where are they buried?"
And he went on to say, "Certainly, in 1981, chemical experiments were carried out in the Akashat region on 300 young Fili, and after that the same operation was carried out on 150 young men from Barzani who were also liquidated."
And the Kurdish leader added, saying, "The tragedy and genocide of the Failis is a link in a series of crimes that were committed against the people of Kurdistan, and we all also witnessed the catastrophe that the Yazidis were subjected to in terms of genocide that exceeded all imaginations," stressing that "the people of Kurdistan will not forget these crimes, but they will be lifted." When given the opportunity, he did not and will not take revenge, but he will not forget these crimes."
He continued by saying that "discourses and words are not enough, but all ways must be sought to prevent the recurrence of such crimes in the future, and for all the victims of genocide in Kurdistan, especially the Faili Kurds, they must be compensated justly, materially and morally, and all rights must be restored to them."
Leader Massoud Barzani suggested establishing a center in Erbil to follow up on all Faili affairs, and that this office serve as a reference for Faili.
