    Baghdad today - Erbil
Today, Monday, a member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, Diary Anwar, revealed the reasons for the "violent" quarrel between members of the Kurdish Parliament.
Anwar said to (Baghdad Today), "The Democratic Party wanted to impose its will by force through today's session and reactivate the Electoral Commission, despite it being a non-independent commission and affiliated with the parties in power."
He added, "The Presidency did not give us the right to object, although it is our legal and constitutional right," noting that "we will file an appeal against what happened and take our constitutional right."
For his part, the representative of the Patriotic Union Party, Karwan Kazini, confirmed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party wanted to impose its will on everyone, but the situation was contained and the session was postponed until further notice.
Kazini told (Baghdad Today), "The Kurdistan Democratic Party violated the agreements between the two parties and the recent meetings, and therefore wanted to impose its will on everyone, which was rejected by all members of parliament and angered them, and a quarrel occurred among them."
He added that "the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, Rewaz Faeq, exercised her authority to postpone the session until further notice," stressing that "no person has the right to resume the session according to the rules of procedure of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region."
Earlier in the day, the proceedings of the session of the Parliament of the Kurdistan region witnessed a clash of hands, beatings, punches, and breaking of the contents of Parliament between the Kurdish members of the Parliament.
(Baghdad Today) obtained a video showing what happened in the session, including a clash of hands, beatings, punches, and breaking the contents of the parliament between the Kurdish members of the parliament, while a number of the region’s journalists who were inside the parliament building were injured to cover the proceedings of the session.
The Kurdistan region is witnessing sharp political differences between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union, which today have reached the point of a clash, and observers believe that the predominance of either party in this file may pave the way for changes in the political scene within the region during the coming years.
