Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with the Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy to Iraq, David Burger, a number of important issues, including the issue of energy and gas, and issues related to the relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan region.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Iraq, David Burger," pointing out that "the minister stressed during the meeting the importance of the Relations between the two countries in many areas of mutual interest, pointing out to the need to strengthen and develop them in a way that serves common interests.
He added, "The most important files of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States of America were reviewed, in addition to the most important developments at the regional and international levels, and the two sides discussed a number of important issues, including the issue of energy and gas, and issues related to the relationship of the center and the Kurdistan region of Iraq.”
For his part, the US Chargé d'Affaires affirmed the United States' keenness to achieve political and economic stability at the level of Iraq and the region, and the importance of achieving the best services for the Iraqi people, reiterating his country's government's support for the security and stability of Iraq,[/rtl]
