    The Electoral Commission revealed the number of voters, polling centers and stations in the provincial council elections scheduled for December 18.
    "More than 40,000 stations in 7,000 polling stations are preparing to hold the provincial elections," Nebras Abu Soda, the media spokesperson for the Election Commission, said in a statement to the official newspaper.
    She added, "The commission works according to a timetable, and that the election stages begin with updating the voter register, which began on July 9 and continues for a month, and there is a stage for receiving lists of candidates and alliances that began on July 15, as well as registering parties and alliances that wish to participate in the elections."
    She explained, "The Commission has registered 281 political parties since 2015, and all of these parties are able to participate in the upcoming elections, and there are political parties under registration," noting that "more than 23 million voters from 15 governorates are entitled to participate in the provincial council elections, and more than 16 million voters have biometric cards," and pointed out that "there are 906 registration centers in the governorates, of which more than one polling center branches."
    Abu Souda confirmed, "With the facilities provided by the government, all obstacles have been overcome, and there is no major issue to mention. In general, any electoral process anywhere in the world is accompanied by obstacles, and the Electoral Commission, through the operational committee consisting of a group of technicians, administrators and legal professionals, is ready to keep pace with and overcome obstacles, if any."
