    Economy News - Baghdad
On Thursday, the Ministry of Construction and Housing revealed the details of the water scarcity conference, which is expected to be held on the 2nd of next August in Baghdad.
The Director General of the General Directorate of Water in the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Ammar al-Jubouri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the conference for treating water scarcity in Iraq will be held on the 2nd of next August, under the auspices of the Prime Minister and under the supervision of the Minister of Construction and Housing, Bankin Rikani, and an organizing committee from the ministry."
He added, "The conference will be held with the participation of departments from the Kurdistan region and the rest of the provinces," noting that "it aims to shed light on the water crisis and the government's role in providing water to citizens, especially since the crisis could last for years."
He pointed out that "the contents of the conference will focus on paragraphs and dialogues that include the obstacles and problems that water and sewage networks suffer from, and how to benefit from reducing waste in use, as well as relying on new systems to obtain new water sources such as rain harvesting, in order to ensure that all citizens in the northern and southern regions have access to the same level of water service."
