    A report by the British Argos website, which specializes in economic affairs, revealed that despite the Kurdistan region providing Baghdad with between 50,000 and 60,000 barrels per day of crude oil, it is still very far from delivering the full share of oil, amounting to 400,000 barrels per day.
    The report stated, "This indicates a kind of partial commitment to the region, as the closure of oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan enters its fifth month in an attempt to pressure Baghdad in exchange for waiving the fine approved by the International Tribunal against Turkey to compensate Iraq for illegal exports."
    And he added, “Under the agreement with Baghdad, the Kurdistan region must supply the Turkish facilities of Ceyhan with no less than 400,000 barrels, and the marketing will be through the Iraqi state-owned SOMO company.
    A source, who refused to be identified, said, “Production may be slightly higher than 50,000 barrels per day, but the Kurdistan Regional Government is still far from reaching the target of 400,000 barrels per day. It remains to be seen how Erbil will compensate the federal government for the current levels of crude conversion, as in exchange for that, the region must receive 12.6 percent of the federal budget.”
    The report indicated that “Turkey and Iraq are still in deliberative talks regarding the resumption of about 470,000 barrels per day of northern Iraq’s exports of crude oil, as the pipeline that transports crude from the Kurdistan region of Iraq to Ceyhan for delivery to export markets was closed last March. Concessions from Iraq in connection with the court’s ruling and another arbitration case.”
    The report indicated that "the Iraqi Prime Minister's office said yesterday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to visit Baghdad, without specifying a date, adding that this will not happen next week."
