The indicators of the Ministry of Planning regarding the actual need for housing units in Iraq, specified at three million, did not come out of nowhere and without almost certain statements. The fundamental issue that has become a difficult crisis to solve, if not sterile, especially with regard to securing adequate housing for groups with limited or no income, who find it difficult to buy housing units easily after housing projects entered the investment system and sold them for exorbitant amounts.
Working according to this system makes Iraq face a new crisis and is not a solution to the crisis itself. Rather, it would make matters worse by depriving vulnerable groups of livelihood from it, as it will be limited to the rich and well-off and not others, and this is not consistent with the requirements of the government’s work that has placed all the people In particular, the poor classes, which the Commission for Human Rights in Iraq drew attention to when it criticized the high cost of unit prices within residential complexes for not benefiting low-income segments from them, whether governmental or investment, and its assertion that the right of the individual to obtain it easily is one of the most important priorities of the principles of human rights. Human world that passed the middle of the last century.
Investing in these projects will maintain the actual need of millions of citizens for housing units, as they will be available to them according to conditions or costs that increase their living burdens and burden them because it is a system that raises the prices of those complexes and their monthly installments, which multiplies the difficulties of obtaining them by the simple people who are desperate The actual need for it, as these houses will be a destination for those who can buy them, regardless of the amounts to obtain them, which has become necessary to find formulas and decisions that take into account effective solutions to the housing crisis in the country, especially to determine the possibility of including all the poor groups of the people in it.
It has also become important to double the efforts of the government agencies concerned with finding housing projects that are supposed to be implemented according to specific characteristics, including increasing their numbers, speeding up their implementation, facilitating routine between the concerned authorities, and resolving the intersections between them throughout the country, in addition to the need to involve the private sector in implementing them for its active role in resolving this escalating crisis because it has the capabilities Technical and financial for the success of these projects and the correction of their objectives and make it an important aspect of the salvation from them after the citizens and government agencies concerned with them over the past decades, in which the simple individual tasted the bitterness of living in homes that lack the most basic necessities of living in them.
