    Zagros Arabia - Erbil

    Today, Thursday (October 12, 2023), the Iraqi Oil Minister, Hayyan Abdul-Ghani, confirmed that Iraq seeks to identify important paths for investing in renewable energy.

    The ministry stated in a statement seen by Zagros Arabia: “Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, participated in the Russian Energy Week REW Forum in its sixth session.”

    He added that he "stressed during the forum the importance of international cooperation in confronting climate challenges, reducing emissions and diversifying energy sources," stressing that "Iraq seeks to identify important paths for investing in renewable energy and converting burned energy into clean energy, to enhance national production by increasing and supporting Investment projects, in addition to sustaining and increasing crude oil production.”

    Abdul Ghani pointed out "the importance of communication and cooperation with oil-producing countries, organizations and stakeholders, to formulate a realistic vision to confront the challenges facing global oil markets."

    He also stated that “participation in specialized forums is an opportunity to learn about the latest developments, research and specialized papers in the field of energy and climate, in addition to meeting with oil and energy ministers and officials in countries around the world, to strengthen relations and cooperation in a way that serves common interests.”

    It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani headed the Iraqi delegation to the Russian Energy Forum.
