Parliamentary culture demands that the government send special laws

The Parliamentary Culture Committee called on the government to send the committee’s laws to the House of Representatives, including the national anthem and flag laws. The committee also criticized the government’s delay in sending a set of laws that had been politically agreed upon between the blocs of the state administration coalition.
Committee member, Samia Al-Ghallab, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The delay in approving a number of laws was due to the lack of political consensus among the blocs on them,” indicating that “the failure to approve these laws led to burdening the Prime Minister’s government program,” and she pointed out that “ The political agreement on the basis of which the government was formed included submitting the General Amnesty and Accountability and Justice Commission laws to a vote on them, but the two laws have not been lifted yet,” stressing that “if these laws are not approved in this session, we will have a position on the government, especially in the current legislative term.” “.
She added, “The committee has important laws, including the National Day Law and the Second Amendment to the Iraqi Media Network Law, and these laws are submitted for the second reading, and there are other laws that were not voted on, including the laws of the flag, the national anthem, and official holidays, and these laws are part of joint work between the Culture Committee and the rest of them.” Committees in the Council.
Al-Ghalab called on the political blocs to agree to pass these laws, especially the official holidays law. She also called on the government to send the laws related to the committee, including the national anthem and flag law, in addition to the laws proposed by the committee, including the Ministry of Culture law, because they are still operating under the laws of the previous regime, and the solution lies in agreement. Political blocs to pass laws and give priority to national interests over personal interests.
