    Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning called on ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry to expedite the submission of projects and plans for next year as soon as possible for approval before the end of the current year.
    The Ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, “The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Hammad Johan, chaired today the expanded meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss the details of investment projects for a number of ministries and entities not affiliated with the Ministry, regarding next year’s plan 2024.”
    Johan stressed, according to the statement, “Ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry must complete the requirements of their ongoing and new projects according to their priorities for the coming year, as quickly as possible, so that they can be approved and approved before the end of the current year.”
    He called on "all concerned parties to provide financial allocations according to the projects, taking into account the new projects included during this year and next year."
    The statement continued, “The Sector Planning Department and the Government Investment Programs Department discussed with representatives of the Ministries of (Health, Environment, Communications, Agriculture, Oil, Youth and Sports, Labor and Social Affairs), and (National Security Advisory, National Security Service, Baghdad Municipality, Diwan The Endowment for the Christian, Yazidi, and Sabian-Mandaean religions, the Martyrs Foundation, the Iraqi Scientific Academy, and the Integrity Commission), details of the projects of those bodies, and reviewing their proposals, priorities, and development plans, which come within the framework of national and local development priorities and the government program.
    He pointed out that "the meeting included a discussion of the allocations for ongoing and proposed projects, which were included for the current year 2023, and their financial allocations, with a view to taking this into account when including new projects for the year 2024, as well as a review of lagging projects and their financing mechanisms, to resume work on them and complete them, especially those with completion rates." More than 70%, which must be completed during this year and next year.”
    While the Director General of the Sector Planning Department, Bassem Dhari Mahmoud, and the Director General of the Government Investment Programs Department, Adel Abdel Zaid, reviewed the “instructions, directives, and observations regarding projects and proposals,” stressing “the importance of accelerating the submission of all requirements, completing office follow-up forms, and project data for the system.” Development Management (IDMS), and a statement of the executive capacity of the entities benefiting from the projects.”
