    Today, Thursday (November 9, 2023), the Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, Ali Reza Kony, revealed his country’s desire to open an international branch of a Turkish university in Iraq during a meeting with the Minister of Education, Naeem Al-Aboudi.
    A statement from the media office of the Minister of Education, received by “Baghdad Today,” said, “Al-Aboudi received the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic in Baghdad, Ali Reza Kony, and his accompanying delegation, and they discussed joint academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries.”
    According to the statement, the Minister of Education stressed “working according to a strategic policy to establish cooperation and coordination programs with countries of the region and the world in a way that serves the university education environment in Iraq, especially after the clear direction of the Iraqi academic institution to improve quality paths and enable universities to achieve their goals, mission and vision in competing and reaping the indicators responsible for Solid academic reputation.”
    He added, "The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is looking forward to effective steps in the field of scientific partnerships and agreeing to exchange experiences, develop scientific research paths, and receive more international students within the Study in Iraq initiative."
    According to the statement, the Turkish ambassador expressed his country's "desire to open an international branch of one of the Turkish universities in Iraq, noting at the same time the interest of the Turkish side in strengthening joint scientific work, scientific twinning programs, and the exchange of students and academic experiences."
