The United States announced that Israel agreed to implement a 4-hour daily truce in the northern Gaza Strip, explaining this in order to allow the population to flee the hostilities .
According to the Jerusalem Post newspaper, Israel agreed to stop fighting in northern Gaza for 4 hours a day, after the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement published a video of two hostages, indicating the possibility of their release.
The newspaper reported that the Islamic Jihad movement published, on Thursday afternoon, a video clip showing two hostages, a woman named Hanna Katsir (77 years old), and a child named Yagil Yaqoub (12 years old).
According to the newspaper, Katsir said in the video: “I am Hanna Katsir. I am currently here in a place that is not mine. I miss my home, my children, my husband, and all my dear family. I send you my greetings, and I hope I will be able to see you next week, and that everyone will be in good health.”
As for Jacob, he said: “I miss my family like crazy, and my friends, and I love you all.”
Yacoub also urged the Israeli army to stop its aerial bombardment of Gaza, saying: “I want to say to Netanyahu that all these explosions are crazy. You are killing us (the hostages). You are not allowing water, electricity, or medicine. And we, as hostages, need this too.”
