Strict measures against companies that are reluctant to conduct annual accounting

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the identification of some companies that are lagging, inactive, and lagging behind in their annual accounting, while vowing to take three legal measures against them.
The ministry’s spokesman, Muthanna Al-Fariji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Every company registered according to official documents, and that has taken on a legal entity, cannot be considered fictitious, but some companies have been diagnosed as inactive or that have failed to submit their annual accounting.” Stressing that “the procedures in this regard are continuing, whether through deletion, liquidation or re-adjustment.” Al-Fariji pointed out that “the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers decided to give a period of 6 months to lagging companies and inactive companies that did not conduct accounting, while exempting all fines,” stressing by saying: “When the prescribed period expires, these companies will be dealt with by delisting.”
