    , during his meeting yesterday, Monday, with the President of the Independent High Electoral Commission and the Head of the Electoral Administration, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani was briefed on the Commission’s latest preparations to hold the provincial council elections scheduled for next December 18, and the completion of all basic requirements for the electoral process. To ensure fair and impartial elections that meet the aspirations of the Iraqi people.[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister stressed that the state agencies, with all their civil and security formations, will fully play their role in order to make this important constitutional entitlement a success.[/size]
    [size=45]In addition, the Independent High Electoral Commission has set next December 5 as the date for conducting the fourth simulation, while indicating that the simulation will be conducted in 7,766 polling stations.[/size]
    [size=45]Commission spokesperson Jumana Al-Ghalai told “INA”: “The fourth simulation will take place on the fifth of next December, and it will be to test the transmission medium for the transmitting and receiving devices, and it will be in all 7,766 polling centers, including private and displaced voting centers.”[/size]
    [size=45]She added, “The simulation will be conducted by the Commission’s employees, under the chairmanship and supervision of the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners, the Directors-General of the Election Commission, the relevant employees, and the relevant Operations Committee.”[/size]
    [size=45]Meanwhile, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and Head of the Supreme Security Committee for Provincial Council Elections, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, arrived yesterday, Monday, in Diyala Governorate at the head of a security delegation to follow up on the efforts being made to hold the 2023 provincial council elections.[/size]
    [size=45]A statement by the Joint Operations Command stated, “Immediately upon the arrival of Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi to the Diyala operations headquarters, he held an extensive security meeting with the security, military and intelligence leaders and the directors of the Election Commission in Diyala and Salah al-Din governorates.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Mohammadawi stressed “the necessity of following up on security efforts, protecting the ballot boxes, and the effort related to the voting of members of the security services and public voting,” and recalled “the importance of the role played by the heroic security forces in protecting the electoral process and maintaining security and stability in the country.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed to “attention to plans for security cordons in polling stations, cooperation and coordination between various sectors, including the army, police, popular mobilization, and security and intelligence agencies, and the importance of cooperation between security forces and citizens to complete the electoral process and make it successful.”[/size]
