The Victory Coalition, headed by Haider al-Abadi, today, Friday, praised the position of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani regarding the bombing of the American embassy in Baghdad, indicating that security and stability are not a commodity in the agenda market and any exposure that threatens the country’s sovereignty cannot be covered up.
Al-Abadi’s coalition stated in a statement, received by Mawazine News, “We support the Iraqi government’s position of rejecting, condemning, and criminalizing attacks on diplomatic missions, and we see in it a responsible position that is consistent with the government’s responsibilities as the representative and expressor of Iraq’s policies and positions and the interests of its people.
Security, stability, and higher interests are not commodities.” In the market of agendas, it is unacceptable to cover any exposure or threat to the security, stability and sovereignty of the country.”
He added, "The multiplicity of power centers and their conflict with the country's authorities regarding positions and interests is a recipe for failure and destruction for the country."
Al-Abadi's coalition called on everyone to "abandon it, line up behind the state, and secure the legitimacy of its authorities in a way that achieves the interests of our people through balanced and sovereign relations with the world."
