The Social Protection Authority of the Ministry of Labor revealed, on Monday, the number of current beneficiaries, and while announcing the suspension of subsidies for 207 beneficiaries, it confirmed that the amounts that will be distributed to them amount to 173 billion dinars.
The head of the Social Protection Authority, Ahmed Khalaf Al-Moussawi, said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, “The social protection file is at the forefront of the government’s priorities, and the number of current beneficiaries has reached seven million and 400 thousand with the new additions, which is the highest ceiling the aid can reach.”
He added, "The government stresses the necessity of continuing to serve this class and provide services to it within its vision to combat poverty," noting that "social assistance has been launched for the month of January."
Regarding the procedures for boycotting the data, Khalaf stated that “207 thousand transgressors who were not eligible for the subsidy salaries were detected and the subsidy was stopped from them, and 173 billion dinars will be recovered from these transgressors.”
