Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Communications and Media Commission announced today, Friday, that work is underway to launch the fourth license for mobile phones, indicating that this license will be launched soon.
The Chairman of the Authority, Ali Al-Moayyed, said, “The fourth license was mentioned in the ministerial curriculum, and the Council of Ministers and Representatives voted on it,” noting that “The Media and Communications Authority granted the license to Al-Salam Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Communications, and work is underway and cooperation is close between the Authority and the Ministry to complete this project.”
He added, “The project is one of popular ambitions and demands,” noting that “the date for launching the license will be soon.”
He stated that “the launch of the fourth license is linked to the procedures of the Ministry of Communications, which undertook the implementation of this project,” pointing out that “the Communications and Media Authority is ready and has submitted all sufficient documents in this field.”
Earlier, the Council of Ministers approved the Media and Communications Authority to issue a national license for fifth generation mobile phones for an exclusive period of (3) years, to Al Salam General Company, one of the formations of the Ministry of Communications.
