[size=45]The mayor of Sinjar in Nineveh Governorate, Naif Sido, confirmed that there are 10,000 compensatory transactions completed in the district for which the amounts have not been paid. Sido said in a press interview followed by Al-Mada: “80% of the people of Sinjar had their property, homes, and villages destroyed by the terrorist organization ISIS after it took control of the district.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, “Resolving the compensation file and accelerating the completion of transactions by the federal government contributes to the non-return of the displaced at the present time, since most of the displaced families had their homes and property destroyed and do not have the funds to rebuild them.” Sido pointed out, “These survivors of women kidnapped by ISIS have a special law enacted by the Presidency of the Republic, and they have their own directorate. They receive monthly salaries and have been compensated, but the problem is with those affected by war and military operations.” The number of displaced Yazidis in the displacement camps in the Kurdistan region currently amounts to more than 135,000 displaced Yazidis only, out of more than 166,000 displaced people in the camps located in the Kurdistan region.[/size]
[size=45]The number of displaced Yazidis in the camps or in the Kurdistan region outside the camps is about 190,000 Yazidis out of more than 360,000 Yazidis who were displaced after the occupation of Sinjar by the terrorist organization ISIS, according to international statistics.[/size]
