On Wednesday, the European Union expressed its aspirations to deepen relations with Baghdad at the level of investment, economy and combating corruption.

The European Union's ambassador to Iraq, Thomas Seiler, told Al-Maalouma, "The European Union's partnership in Iraq is good, and we seek to develop it in all fields."
He explained, "Our partnership with Iraq in the past was limited only to the political aspect, but now we want to develop it to include the economic aspect."
He added, "The Iraqi parliament and economists want to attract European investment companies to work in Iraq. This pleases us and we will send this message to the European Union."
He stressed, "Iraq today enjoys security and safety, unlike what it was in the past, expressing his pleasure at "the presence of experts in the field of investment, economics, and anti-corruption." Ended / 25h
