[size=45]The Baghdad Municipalities Directorate announced that it has begun, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, the process of converting agricultural lands into residential ones, in accordance with Resolution 320 regarding the ownership of encroachers.[/size]
[size=45]The Director of Baghdad Municipalities, Yasser Al-Quraishi, said in a press statement, “The procedures for converting agricultural lands to residential ones according to Council of Ministers Resolution No. 320 of 2022 include 5 stages,” noting that “the directorate completed the first, second, and third stages, which included collecting land data and preparing sectoral designs.” “The fourth phase is currently being implemented, which includes dissolving agricultural lands and converting them to residential type, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that the Ministry's Land Resolution Committee will work to stop water quotas on them, for the purpose of starting procedures for including them with infrastructure services, noting that all lands, 30 percent of which were exploited for non-agricultural purposes and activities, have been converted to residential and all agricultural characteristics have been abolished, while Lands whose exploitation rate is less than the mentioned percentage and where agricultural activities have taken place will remain in their agricultural capacity and will not be converted into residential.[/size]
[size=45]He stressed that “the directorate, after the end of the stage of converting lands to residential buildings, will begin implementing the fifth and final stage, which includes ownership of lands and issuing bonds to those entitled to them.”[/size]
