    On Thursday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs clarified the legal consequences for those who exceed social assistance salaries.
    The Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the Social Protection Authority, Moataz Ramadan, said in a statement seen by Al-Iqtisad News, “Based on the directives of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, to launch a campaign to recover amounts from those who exceeded the social protection subsidy salaries, and under the supervision and follow-up of the head of the Protection Authority.” Social worker Ahmed Al-Moussawi, a mechanism has been established to recover sums of money from those who exceeded the subsidy salaries.
    He added, "If the citizen is one of the owners of generators, the owner of food agencies, or one of those registered in the Chamber of Commerce, or the widow or divorced person is marrying for the second time, the subsidy will be permanently stopped and legal measures will be taken to ensure the recovery of the amounts received in violation of the law, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 17 and 26 of the law." Social Protection No. 11 of 2014.”
    According to the statement, the Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the Social Protection Authority called on citizens who benefit from social protection salaries, in the event that they obtain a government appointment as a contract, a permanent job, or a retirement share that is more than the amount of the subsidy, “to review the Social Protection Department to report and stop the subsidy,” pointing out that “All legal measures will be taken to recover the amounts received in violation of the law.”
