+A -AINA-  BaghdadThe American corporation Honeywell was urged to assist in completing the Basra refinery on Thursday by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.  "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received, at his residence in Washington, D.C., the President of the American Honeywell Company Ken West and his accompanying delegation, and during the meeting, they discussed ways of cooperation with the company to implement projects in the field of developing gas production," according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.Calling on "the company to contribute to the completion of the Basra refinery," the prime minister emphasized that "Iraq will continue to introduce modern technology to the oil industry, and expand Iraq's capabilities in the production and export of petroleum products."   He cited "the government's readiness to create the necessary investment environment and to give foreign companies support and all the facilities they need to work in Iraq."   For his part, West emphasized that his company is "ready to contribute to infrastructure projects, such as the rehabilitation of Baghdad International Airport in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as the Nasiriyah Airport project, and to provide support services in the construction of new cities projects."He also stated that his company "wants to expand cooperation and partnership with Iraq, whether in government projects or in private sector projects."  Notably, yesterday evening Honeywell signed two memorandums of understanding with the Iraqi private sector, one related to technology and automation of oil fields and the other to strategic plans for trade exchange and the associated gas industry, both under the Prime Minister's patronage.https://ina.iq/eng/32293-al-sudani-urges-the-us-corporation-honeywell-to-help-finish-the-basra-refinery.html
