    On Tuesday, a member of the Oil and Natural Resources Committee, Bassem Al-Gharibawi, criticized the federal government’s payment of sums to the region without the latter’s commitment to budget laws that require it to hand over oil imports to Baghdad.

    Al-Gharibawi told Al-Maalouma, “The Kurdistan Region refuses to hand over oil to the federal government, and this has created a problem, since Kurdistan violated the decisions of the Federal Court with this measure.”
    He added, "The region receives its salaries and allocations according to what was stipulated in the budget, as Baghdad is still performing its duty towards Kurdistan, but Erbil has not fulfilled its obligations towards the capital, especially with regard to the oil file."
    He stated that "the money that the region receives from the federal government is nothing but a courtesy, as the Kurdistan government has not adhered to the country's laws. In addition, there is information that the region has sold about 250,000 barrels of oil unofficially and without the knowledge of the federal government, and therefore there is “There is an urgent need to resolve some issues with Erbil, especially regarding the oil file.” Ended 25 n
