    Economy News _ Baghdad
Today, Thursday, Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi announced the opening of the mass transit line from New Baghdad to the Al-Bab Al-Sharqi area, while noting that it is considered one of the most important lines as it passes through more than one traffic node.
The Minister of Transport said, in a press conference followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “under the direct guidance and support of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, the New Baghdad Line, Maysalun Square, was opened, which passes through Al-Ghadir Bridge, then Al-Amana Garage, then Street 62, Al-Wathiq Square, then left to Salman Square.” Faiq and Al-Shorouk Building, then to the right, Al-Andalus Square, Al-Isra University, the White Palace, then the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, then Bab Al-Sharqi, then Al-Tayaran Square.
He added, "The most important feature of this line is that it passes through crowded traffic nodes, and there are major congestions due to the lack of public transportation there," stressing that "this line will serve the largest segment of students and citizens, as it passes through densely populated areas."
He explained, "This line bears the number 29 out of 72 lines, and will provide a modern and comfortable means of transportation at nominal prices," noting that "the Ministry of Transport, represented by the Travelers and Delegations Company, opened 9 public transportation lines this year."
He stressed, "The Ministry of Transport is determined to activate public transportation in Baghdad and in all governorates," noting that "there are committees formed by the Ministry and headed by the Director General of the Travelers and Delegations Company, which met with some governors to discuss activating public transportation service in these governorates."
He continued, "The governors expressed their full readiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Transport in activating public transportation in the governorates," reiterating their determination "to open all public transportation lines in all governorates."
