    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Political affairs researcher Muhammad Ali al-Hakim confirmed today, Saturday (June 1, 2024), that the expected political return of the leader of the Shiite national movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, will change all political equations in Iraq.
Al-Hakim told "Baghdad Today", "Al-Sadr's political return has become decided and is a matter of time. It is expected that it will completely change the political equations in Iraq, and Al-Sadr will work to form new political alliances in order to be able to form a majority government."
He added, "Al-Sadr's absence from the political scene greatly affected the scene and caused it to lose balance. Therefore, Al-Sadr's return is disturbing to the coordination framework and will have major impacts on the status of the political and electoral framework."
The political affairs researcher stated that "Al-Sadr's alliance with the Sudanese during the next stage is possible, but achieving this matter will depend on the Sudanese staying away from his allies Asaib Ahl al-Haq, and that is why we say Al-Sadr's return will change all political equations."
The Sadrist movement introduced the name “National Shiite Movement,” which was coupled with Al-Sadr’s push to take up issues related to the essence of the Shiite conscience in general. These are moves that observers read as an attempt by Al-Sadr to withdraw as many Shiite groups as possible, especially the “silent groups,” which are not considered... Within the audience of well-known Shiite political blocs and movements.
