Member of the Iraqi Parliament, Suhaila Al-Sultani, revealed on Wednesday that there are external pressures preventing the implementation of death sentences against the perpetrators of the Speicher massacre.
Al-Sultani said in a statement, “There are external pressures to influence the President of the Republic for reasons of human rights and the like,” noting that “those behind the influence are the same countries that claim human rights and permit the killing of innocents in Gaza.”[/size]
[size=45]She continued, “The President of the Republic must issue death sentences against the perpetrators of the Speicher massacre, as they deserve to be punished for the horrific crime they committed against all of humanity,” pointing out that “Iraq is a Muslim people and government, and we must adhere to the laws of Islam and implement its provisions.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Sultani concluded her speech: “The West’s claim to human rights and respect for humanity is a deception and falsehood, and what happened in Gaza revealed the West’s true face,” stressing that “retaliation against the criminals of the Speicher massacre instead of leaving them in prisons is a legal and moral duty.”[/size]
[size=45]It is noteworthy that the Iraqi government issued 22 death sentences against the number of perpetrators of the Speicher crime, while the number of perpetrators in Iraqi prisons exceeds 150 criminals, in addition to the passage of 10 years since the crime. Ended 25/C[/size]
