    [size=45]The General Directorate of Energy Police at the Ministry of Interior announced the final elimination of oil derivatives smuggling, while revealing new statistics on cases of seizure and arrests of those caught smuggling oil derivatives during the first half of this year.[/size]
    [size=45]The Director General of the Energy Police Directorate, Major General Dhafer Nazmi Al-Hussaini, said in a statement that “the smuggling of oil derivatives has been controlled by 98% in all areas of Iraq, and this percentage is confirmed by the Ministries of Oil and Interior and all organizations concerned with this matter,” indicating that “the remaining 2% is simple smuggling in (jelly tanks) small tanks and electric generators taken illegally, while smuggling in general has been completely eliminated, and the strategic pipelines in all areas of Iraq have been secured by 100%, as well as securing foreign and Iraqi companies and all oil sites.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Husseini added: “We have arrested and confiscated more than 15 million liters that were returned to the state during the past 6 months, in addition to 33 million liters that were seized and returned to the state last year.”[/size]
    [size=45]He explained that “the accused who is arrested for smuggling will have a preliminary arrest report issued against him, after which he will be referred to the Oil Police Station according to the local jurisdiction, and then the legal procedures will be completed against him and he will be presented to the competent judge.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "there are more than 450 people accused of smuggling cases who have been referred since the beginning of this year, and 200 tankers have been confiscated, more than 4 violating stations have been closed, and more than 20 smuggling dens have been raided completely."[/size]
