    Baghdad Today - Erbil
Kurdistan Democratic Party member Wafaa Mohammed Karim confirmed today, Sunday (June 30, 2024), that there are no problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the region's financial revenues or employee salaries.
Muhammad Karim said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The Ministry of Finance in the regional government has handed over the revenues to the Federal Ministry of Finance, and there are no problems."
He added, "The disclosure of non-oil financial revenues is being carried out smoothly, and they are being delivered to Baghdad on a regular basis, and there are no disputes or problems. After sending the payroll lists yesterday, it is expected that Baghdad will finance the salaries of employees in the region, at the end of this week, or at the beginning of next week, most likely."
Local media and social networking sites had reported information about Baghdad waiting for Erbil to deposit the treasury’s share of the Kurdistan region’s non-oil revenues for the month of June before salaries are disbursed. However, the Kurdistan government announced yesterday that it had sent lists of employees to Baghdad for the purpose of financing June salaries.
For his part, Minister of Justice Khaled Shwani said that “there is no political or legal problem” that prevents sending the salaries of Kurdistan employees. Rather, there are some comments on the names of employees and security forces, which are being audited, and they will all be addressed and the salaries sent.
Talking about the existence of problems with some names or their monthly audit is considered surprising, as the salaries of Kurdistan employees were released throughout the previous months, and it is assumed that they were released after reviewing all the names, unless the absolute salaries were incomplete and were not released to all employees.
