    Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Haider Mohammed Makiya, confirmed on Tuesday the Commission’s intention to offer new investment opportunities in various sectors during the Iraq Investment Forum.
    The Commission stated in a statement received by / Al-Maalouma /, "The Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Haider Muhammad Makiya, chaired a meeting today with the Chairman of the Iraqi Economic Council, Ibrahim Al-Baghdadi, and the accompanying delegation regarding the preparations for the Iraq Investment Forum, which is scheduled to be held in November of this year, in the presence of a number of general managers and those concerned in the Commission."
    He added, "The attendees discussed the details of the forum's program, the organizational arrangements, and a review of the investment incentives and facilities that the government will provide to the participants in this forum, as well as the follow-up and communication mechanisms between the National Investment Commission and the Iraqi Economic Council."
    He stated that "the two parties stressed the importance of this forum in enhancing efforts to attract foreign direct investment and stimulate economic companies in light of the positive developments witnessed by the country in terms of security and economic stability," noting that they "stressed holding more coordination meetings to ensure the success of this first investment forum in Iraq."
    During the meeting, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission stressed "the need to coordinate with government agencies, the private sector and major economic sectors to participate and contribute effectively to the forum, as well as to coordinate with investment authorities in the governorates regarding investment opportunities that have completed approvals," noting that "the focus will be on attracting serious investors and businessmen, in addition to offering new investment opportunities in various sectors."
