Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, confirmed today, Saturday, that the segments of people with disabilities and special needs are an essential part of government projects.
Al-Asadi said at the launch conference of the National Youth Team for People with Disabilities: "This conference is being held today to coincide with the anniversary of the massacre committed by the criminal ISIS gangs against a basic component, which is the Yazidi component," noting that "the youth segment is at the forefront of the government's concerns, and that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani is the one who directed the establishment of the Supreme Council for Youth, which is concerned with everything that concerns youth and presents proposals that serve youth."
He added that "the segments of people with disabilities and special needs are an essential part of all government projects, and they are dealt with according to the plans that have been put in place," indicating that "the Iraqi people have hundreds of thousands of people with special needs, and every government must care for them in a way that enables them to overcome all obstacles that hinder their lives, especially since they have achieved active participation as part of the people and in many fields, and some of them were distinguished and won awards through which they proved their successes."
He added, "Today's conference aims to study ideas and everything related to the youth of this segment, considering them the most active and most ambitious, and in which everything that achieves their ambitions must be provided."
