The Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee in the House of Representatives reiterated, on Saturday, its confirmation that the drop in the price of a barrel of oil to $70 will not affect the budget.
The deputy chairman of the committee, Nehru Mahmoud Qadir, told Al-Maalouma Agency, "There are concerns if the price of a barrel of oil reaches less than $70 in the budget for next year."
He added, "The price of a barrel of oil was calculated at $70 in the 2024 budget, noting that the slight fluctuation in oil prices will not affect it."
He stressed that "employees' salaries are fully secured even if oil prices fall to $70." End/25 H
