{Economic: Al Furat News} Economic experts called on the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to establish work to support the poor through a credit window similar to the Bangladeshi experience in establishing the Grameen Bank, or what is called the Bank of the Poor.
The idea of establishing this bank goes back to the Bangladeshi Muhammad Yunus, one of the most famous economists and bankers in the world, who won the Nobel Peace Prize, and aims to reduce poverty by providing small loans to the poor without collateral. Commenting
on this experience, the economic advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Saleh, said, "The Bangladeshi experience has achieved success that has changed the way of life for the poor in this country through the window of providing credit or small loans to segments of the poor society in order to finance projects in various limited production and service sectors at first."
He added that "the financing paths of this bank have an effective economic resonance, as the funds were invested in the right direction that achieves the highest benefits for local communities, as it represents an important economic step with a positive impact."
Saleh pointed out that "the World Bank has adopted this idea in more than 100 countries in the world, while calling on the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to establish the Labor Bank."
The economic advisor to the Prime Minister stated that the success of one poor person in overcoming the poverty barrier through production is a sign of hope in liberating thousands from the scourge of poverty.
