    The US Central Command announced the implementation of a joint operation with Iraqi forces against the remnants of the terrorist ISIS in the Anbar desert last Thursday, which resulted in the killing of 15 terrorists and the wounding of 7 American soldiers, as five of them were wounded during the operation, while two were injured due to falling.

    The statement of the Central Command blew up the narrative of the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, who issued a statement last month confirming that there were no American forces inside Iraq and that the military presence was limited to advisors. The minister’s statement came to deny what the US State Department had stated and its confirmation of the presence of American military forces inside Iraq. Thus, the military operation revealed the truth of this presence, which the Foreign Minister denies.
    Former MP Hassan Fadham confirmed to Al-Maalouma that "there are attempts by the government or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to polish the image of the American military presence inside Iraq, by announcing a change in the relationship with the United States from a military security relationship to an economic political relationship based on respect for the two countries."
    He added, "The reality of the situation requires the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq. If there were no forces inside Iraq, the delegations would have remained in Baghdad and not left for Washington in order to reach an understanding about the withdrawal of these forces."

    He explained that "there are American bases that are repeatedly targeted and there is logistical support that the American forces present inside Iraq receive, and therefore the statement of the Secretary of State that there are no American forces inside Iraq means that there are no ground forces, but this does not negate the presence of forces inside the military bases and American aircraft that carry out sorties from time to time." 
    On the other hand, the leader of the Fatah Alliance, Ali Al-Fatlawi, told / Al-Maalouma /, "The Americans' failure to adhere to the terms of the Strategic Framework Agreement regarding the security aspect is intentional, in order to give them an excuse to keep their forces for a longer period inside Iraq, so the Iraqi side must act to obtain advanced defense systems in any way." 
    He pointed out that "the Iraqi airspace is still controlled by the international coalition forces led by the United States of America, and the violations that targeted the Popular Mobilization Forces and others must be borne by the coalition forces, as they are the party that committed to protecting the Iraqi airspace."
    While political analyst Qasim Al-Tamimi, during his interview with /Al-Maalouma/, believes that "there is political procrastination in the file of the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq, in addition to the fact that the developments indicate that the American military presence inside Iraq will last a long time."
    He added, "The American forces left Iraq through the 2008 agreement, but they returned again after creating the terrorist ISIS and pushing it from Syria towards Iraq, as they wanted to create this criminal organization in Syria with the aim of overthrowing the government, and pushed it towards Iraq in order for it to return to its lands."
    He explained that "America closed the door on Iraq in the armament file in 2014 when the terrorist ISIS entered, in order to pressure the government to demand that Washington send American forces back to Iraq to fight terrorism, which is the pretext under which the aforementioned forces are now present inside Iraq."
