Iraqi government opens accounts to deposit donors' money for Gaza and Lebanon

The Iraqi government announced, today, Thursday (October 3, 2024), the opening of two accounts to deposit donors’ money for the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that "in continuation of the approach of Iraq, government and people, to support the steadfastness of the two brotherly peoples of Gaza and Lebanon, and in implementation of the recent decisions of the Council of Ministers in this regard, and in response to the directives of the supreme authority, and the desire of our honorable Iraqi people, to strengthen the steadfastness of the brothers in the face of the brutal Zionist aggression, which has exceeded all humanitarian limits; it has been decided to open the two accounts described below in the Trade Bank of Iraq / TBI , to deposit donations from citizens, institutions, companies, businessmen, and all social activities, which contribute to the relief of the brothers, and alleviating their suffering amid their current difficult circumstances."
The statement added, "The two described accounts are a current account in Iraqi dinars, in the name of the Prime Minister's Office - Gaza Relief, with the number ( BAN IQ07 TRIQ 9890 1101 4345 001 )", noting that "the other account is a current account in Iraqi dinars, in the name of the Prime Minister's Office - Lebanon Relief, with the number (IBAN IQ07 TRIQ 9890 1101 4346 001) )
He continued: “The Prime Minister and members of the Council of Ministers took the initiative to donate a month’s salary to the two aforementioned accounts, at the beginning of efforts to provide the necessary funds to sustain the relief operation,” stressing that “the electronic application will be announced later, which enables donors from citizens, public service employees, businessmen and the private sector to donate and support the aforementioned accounts, without the need to visit the specified bank or one of its branches.”
He stressed that "these two accounts will be subject to continuous auditing by the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau."
